At Consideration, we admire Companies that balance Profit and Purpose.

Gear For Good®

Cotopaxi’s promise is to make durable gear in the most ethically sustainable way possible and to use their influence to develop and uplift communities. In short, make products that last — and have a lasting impact.

Cotopaxi wrote these excellent words in their 2021 Impact report

More than ever before, 2021 demanded a higher degree of
human collaboration.

It meant

  • Connecting with and directly supporting people sewing our products who may be struggling to afford groceries.

  • Having hard and truthful conversations with our employees and customers around societal injustices.

  • Competitors became peers.

  • And our strongest sources of leadership came from a wide range of constituents

  • including our part time staff, suppliers, nonprofit beneficiaries

  • and marginalized individuals.

These shared inter-dependencies and collaborations became a source of strength for our company.

No one company, nation, sustainable development topic, or person can manifest the change needed to ensure a positive future.

We all must put aside competition, pride, and perfection in favor of shared values, compromise, and humility.

Our giving, carbon accounting, and governance were core to allowing Cotopaxi to grow in a manner that resulted in both financial and sustainable wins.

There’s nothing half-baked at Greyston or on the Consideration Platform either.

The Greyston Philosophy

Employment is a critical first step in someone’s path out of poverty. In addition to employment opportunities, we have created structures and support systems to ensure our bakers are successful in their roles. Our workplace practices below have helped individuals thrive not just in the workplace but in life. They’re also the reason Greyston Bakery earned the designation of “Best for the World” B-Corp every year since 2013!

OUR MISSION IS TO UNLOCK THE POWER OF HUMAN POTENTIAL THROUGH INCLUSIVE EMPLOYMENT, ONE PERSON AT A TIME

An Example Challenge

Open Hiring at Greyston Bakery in New York

Joe is the CEO and an evangelist for Open Hiring. Sara runs the Open Hiring Training Centre In Rochester, New York. Learn how that's turning out and share your views!

Consideration Challenges are interactive! Employees are asked their opinion. Asked for their reactions. Asked if this sort of initiative is worthwhile or would work in your company.
